Amazon India – Unethical way to dealing with customers
I have purchased “Samsung RS21HZLMR1 Side-by-Side Refrigerator (585 Ltrs, Black Mirror)" from Amazon India website (Sold by: Cloudtail) on 14th October when sale was going on in almost all Indian Shopping Portals like Amazon, Paytm, Snapdeal Flipkart etc.
I have got the confirmation email (Auto mailer) to confirm the order. After couple of hours, I have received email from Amazon that product is packed and shipped and proper bill and tracking number was shared on my email ID from Amazon India.
At around 9:30 PM IST, I have received message from Amazon that product will not be delivered without stating any reason.
I have checked immediately with Amazon using email for the reason and I have received below mentioned reason for the same.

When I checked again with Amazon as I have tracking number and how the product is not available with company it’s a contradictory statement. I have again received below mentioned email from Amazon.

I further raised the concern on Twitter over the product and raise multiple questions regarding the transaction. I have received following response.

I have filled the form and again I raised the concern regarding my Order and I have received below mentioned email stating different reason now for cancellation and Rs1000 compensation (as Amazon wallet money) for that error.

The whole issue raised couple of questions:
Q1: If Amazon India entitled to cancel the order without the consent of Buyer after the product is dispatched?

In terms of T&C on Amazon, Contract is valid after dispatch confirmation email.
Q2: What is the valid reason to cancel my Order?
I have received multiple reasons for my order cancellation which itself against the ethical dealing with customers.
Q3: If the pricing error is really acceptable during sale promotions by online portals?
If we check Amazon India, we have multiple products are getting sold as high as 99% discount on MRP. i.e. Pricing error is really not acceptable for any reason. If there is a pricing error then they have to accept the contract and it’s really not a reason to cancel contract.

Q3: If this is only a small error from global company like Amazon?
NO, this pricing issue is not simple. We actually buy product online only because of pricing and deals and this error is also a loss of opportunity for customer to buy from other websites or even avail the discount.
Paytm, Snapdeal, Flipkart and other portals were offering huge discounts during that time and this issue lead to big opportunity loss for me to buy the product. It might be company strategy to restrict customers’ to buy from competitions.
After analyzing the whole situation and time commitment that involved by me to track the product and its actual reason for cancellation, I have decided to move to Consumer Court and shortly send the court Notice to Amazon India for the following:
·         Complete the contract and Deliver the product as per contract – As per status on Amazon website, Product is still available from my Delivery address.
·         Compensate for my time that I spend on tracking the product and identify the correct reason for cancellation.

Amazon India should take customer complaint seriously and try to deliver products as agreed by website. Stating different reasons is really not acceptable from a company like AMAZON.
